Modeller
This role is all about converting design ideas into computer models and engineering drawings. These drawings are then used to manufacture and assemble the engines and all their components. So an apprenticeship here is about taking an engineering concept and turning it into a detailed “blueprint” from which our manufacturing team can create advanced engineering solutions. Your training here will cover a huge range – everything from engineering spatial awareness and drawing board skills to geometric control using the latest Computer Aided Drafting technology. And because you’ll work with people from all over the business, you’ll build up your skills in engine technology, manufacturing techniques and process development as you go.
Non-destructive Testing Technician
Our engines must be able to withstand all kinds of conditions, which means we have to find ways of testing them thoroughly. That's exactly what our Testing Technicians do for virtually every area of our business. Working here means establishing the best ways of testing, setting up written instructions and procedures and checking if equipment needs replacing or updating. You also get to carry out hands-on testing, which could mean anything from magnetic particle inspection, fluorescent penetrant inspection, eddy current inspection, radiographic inspection and ultrasonic inspection. In fact, we’ll train you up to Level 3 standard in this area.
