Learn and Explore

The Heritage Trust exhibits provide the ideal opportunity to learn about and explore the products of one of the world’s most famous companies.

The collection includes aero-engines from World War 1 era piston engines, through World War 2 era icons such as the Merlin right up to the modern engines that take you on business and holiday flights. You can explore how power and propulsion was, and continues to be, key to the growth of the company.

At different branches you have the opportunity to explore and learn about diesel engines, marine engines, industrial engines and rockets.

Components are also featured across our different market sectors in the Rolls-Royce Heritage and Future Exhibition in the Derby Aerospace campus.

How Rolls-Royce’s employees carried out their day-to-day tasks has not been forgotten with an example of a typewriter, calculator, drawing board, Slide Rule and drawing.

All this provides ideal learning opportunities for all ages, but especially schools and young people and STEM features large in our objectives.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
The Rolls-Royce Heritage and Future Exhibition is located in the Learning and Development Centre in the heart of the Aerospace Campus in Derby with the added benefit of being co-located with the company Community Investment Team.

We will be working closely with the STEM Ambassadors from Rolls-Royce and local community Teachers and Schools.

We offer Interactive displays using real engines, to demonstrate and illuminate the unique stories of Engine Technology and to demonstrate other scientific principles. STEM is at the heart of everything we do. We’re working with tomorrow’s scientists and engineers, showing them what happens when you take STEM out of the textbook. We will cater for all age groups from primary and secondary school up to University students.
