Aerospace challenge: STEM Awards 2016

Since 2010, the number of young people taking A-levels in science and maths subjects has gone up by more than 38,000 – an increase of 17.3 per cent. Studying a STEM discipline at university provides them with a route into a huge number of dynamic, cutting-edge careers, including a wide range of opportunities with Rolls-Royce.

This is why we have been delighted to sponsor the aerospace challenge as part of the Telegraph UK STEM Awards 2016. Alongside other world-leading employers supporting the competition – Babcock International Group, Atkins, GSK, McLaren and Semta – this has offered the young finalists access to priceless industry experience, and our winner is offered the chance of a summer internship at Rolls-Royce.

Applications are now closed for 2016 and we will announce our winner soon.

Our confirmed winner will be invited to London to present their idea to a panel of expert, independent judges. The overall winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in June and they will be presented with a cheque for £25,000 from The Telegraph.
