Non Destructive Evaluation Apprenticeships
Non Destructive Evaluation, or NDE, is made up of five main technologies; x-rays, ultrasonics, eddy currents, magnetic particle inspection and fluorescent penetrant inspection. At Rolls-Royce, we use all of these to ensure our products have no defects. So as an apprentice, you can expect to learn about them in detail. It’s important stuff, and we work with world-class universities to ensure our inspection technologies continue to be the best they can be, which means you’ll be on the leading-edge of the industry.

Materials Laboratory Apprenticeships
This apprenticeship will see you work with world-class research institutes to make sure the materials we use are as innovative and safe as possible. You can expect to gain an understanding of different uses of materials, failure investigation studies, research and development, process control, improvement activities and computer modelling. You’ll also get to work on a variety of processes used during component manufacture, such as chemical processing, laser processes, machining, welding, heat treatment, casting, forging, and various coatings. So you’ll get a broad overview of your area as you split your time between the office and high-tech laboratories.
