Rolls-Royce provides Silk Way West Airlines with replacement RB211 engines to support their fleet operations until 2026

Rolls-Royce plc has today signed an agreement with Silk Way West Airlines to provide replacement engines for five of its RB211-524 powered Boeing 747-400F aircraft that will support their operations until 2026.

The agreement will provide the cargo airline with a minimum of 20,000 flight cycles of engine life for the next five years and provides them with a cost effective solution for maintaining their fleet at its current level of operability.

Rolls-Royce has been delivering services to Silk Way West Airlines since 2017 and will continue to work closely with them to support the maintenance of their B747-400F fleet.

Chris Cholerton, President Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, said: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with Silk Way Airlines today. Utilising existing engines to provide them with a cost effective way of maintaining their fleet is an efficient and logical solution to supporting their operations until 2026. We look forward to continuing to work with them and building on our relationship with them as they grow in the future.”

“It is with great honour that we successfully continue our long-lasting cooperation with Rolls-Royce. Keeping a close relationship with one of our global partners is of strategic importance and we consider the signing of this agreement as a new phase in the history of our bilateral relations. Thanks to this agreement, Silk Way West Airlines will be able to successfully realise its business strategy regarding the planned fleet renewal,” said Mr. Zaur Akhundov, President of Silk Way Group.
