Support services

Our services include contractor logistics support (CLS), technical helpdesk, training, documentation, spares provision, tools, obsolescence management, fleet asset management, warehousing and logistics and integrated logistics support (ILS) packages.

Core capabilities

We design and develop new equipment, contract for availability and capability, and manage equipment services. We manage over 33,000 government assets.

MR&O

All types of electro-mechanical equipment are supported – for example generating sets and other power generation & distribution systems – whether designed and manufactured by Rolls-Royce DGS, or by third party providers.

Facilities

Our UK premises are fully flexible to best suit our customers’ requirements whether production or equipment services. Current testing capabilities include 7 test beds, and on-site EMC testing. The test beds feature electrical load banks, a water brake dynamometer and a simulated sea water cooling facility.

Military power generation, distribution and management

We provide and support power systems that are capable of operation in extreme military environments. Our equipment often features minimum signatures and shock resistance. Applications of the systems, and their related support services, are for army bases, ground power units for aircraft, including UAV’s, and as platform power on military vessels and vehicles.

Mobile Tactical Power Units (TPUs)

Design, development and in-service support of power generation systems, as used by the UK MoD. These systems included TPUs that are hand portable, towed, or trailer mounted.

Our generators are easy to use and are highly maintainable. They can be deployed in a wide range of tactical situations and are in use today with the UK MoD.

Power output range: from 1kW up to 80kW with paralleling - capable of being fuelled on diesel and avtur.

Networks and microgrids

Provision and support of complete and semi-permanent networks.

We design, build and support complete power distribution systems. These include the Power Management & Distribution System (PMDS) which are comprised of modular stackable distribution units and interconnecting cables. These systems cover all requirements from multiple generator interfaces to single phase distribution units - for shelter supply and lighting, for example.

Vehicle Auxiliary Power Units (APUs)

Design, development, and in-service support, of APUs for Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs).

Examples include design and development of the AJAX APU (6.2kW) and of the Titan/Trojan APU (10kW), to include the subsequent MR&O for these units.

We also offer expertise in design and development of power related equipment such as power conversion systems to provide AFVs with power from, or to, an external AC source.

Naval power generation

Design and development of naval generator sets.

We have extensive experience in providing design features such as shock capability, Our generator sets are installed on many Naval vessel types including Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs), Single Role Minehunter (SRMH) and Landing Platform Dock (LPD) vessels, both for the British Navy and other navies Worldwide.

Power output range experience: From 100kW up to 1MW

Containerised Power Systems

Design, development, and in-service support of Containerised Power Units (CPUs).

Our CPUs are designed to provide power for different types of military systems. Examples include Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) ground control stations, as well as C4ISTAR vehicle mounted systems.

Power output range examples: 15kW and 25kW.
