Rolls-Royce is proud to be part of a group of leading companies in the field of STEM that have come together with a group of leading education companies to create the World Challenge Club.
The World Challenge Club is a brand-new activity-based educational programme and competition, designed for primary aged pupils between the ages of 6 and 14 and delivered via Television and Online to participants around the globe.
Focusing on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), the all-inclusive challenge enables families from all walks of life and locations to participate from their own homes. The programme aims at providing support to families who are home-schooling during the coronavirus pandemic. Practical science and technology activities are undertaken using recycled and commonly found materials in homes. Each activity features a challenge element that students at home can choose to engage with. Each challenge is supported with learning and teaching materials from Content Partners in subject areas taught to learners at primary age.
Delivered by a Virtual Teacher, a mix of learning contents and how-to guides, outlining challenges that student participants can engage with that day and through which they are taught key concepts in science, mathematics and design.
Alongside the core STEM Learning and “design and build” elements in each activity, students are encouraged to post videos of their outputs and results and “compete” with each other through a global leader board resource, with classmates and fellow participants around the world creating an exciting global dimension to the learning pathways.
Participants are encouraged to register online to participate in the challenge on the "Dendrite Connect" platform by visiting www.worldchallenge.club in order to connect with others and to build local competition among classmates. They will be issued with certificates at the end of each challenge season and with special prizes to the best performing students. Through the platform learners can access free of charge all the other e-learning resources in the Dendrite Connect platform.
