Meet Nicky. Nicky is a mother of two and very familiar with the difficulties posed by schools shut due to the lock down. She shares how the Digital Academy has been a valuable resource to her children as well as the primary school they are studying at.
Not only does Nicky work as a project manager for the University of Derby but she’s also enrolled in a Master’s course on an apprenticeship programme. Nicky believes that learning is a life long journey and that it doesn’t have to stop, irrespective of how difficult the circumstances are. It’s important to her that she sets the right example for her two children. She came across the Digital Academy advertised on social media and welcomed the vast amount of resources and how conducive the structure was to accessing the right content. She was so impressed that in her role as a Governor at her children’s primary school she advocated the Digital Academy and it has become a dedicated resource on their homepage and learning materials.
