5th grade pupils get to see the world of aero engines in Germany

The importance of STEM subjects for starting a career in aerospace

On 30th April 2019, our STEM ambassador Sven Schrape welcomed a school class from Grundschule Rangsdorf at the RR Dahlewitz site.

The 30 kids arrived with their teachers shortly after 9am and firstly watched a presentation on the basics of how jet engines work and what it takes to lift aircraft off the ground.

They were then equipped with the necessary personal safety equipment for the shop tour which started in the apprentice workshop, where our apprentices explained how important STEM subjects are for starting a career in aerospace.

The rather large group was then split in two smaller groups to tour the assembly line and see the GOM robot cell in our measurement and calibration centre.
