Singapore

Our relationship with Singapore began in the early 1930s as we established our presence in defence aviation. Today, Rolls-Royce is a strategic partner to Singapore’s aerospace sector, supporting its dynamic growth and technological capability development.

Our 154,000 sqm Seletar Campus, located within the Seletar Aerospace Park, was opened in February 2012 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The Campus is home to Fan Blade Singapore (FBSG), the lead facility for the global production of our patented hollow titanium Wide Chord Fan Blade.

It also houses our Civil Aerospace Asia Pacific Customer Service team providing support to airline customers in the region; an engine test facility; and a regional training centre.

Rolls-Royce powers aircraft for most of the major airlines in the region including Singapore Airlines (SIA), All Nippon Airways, Thai Airways, Asiana Airlines, Japan Airlines and Air New Zealand.

Rolls-Royce powers aircraft for most of the major airlines in the region including Singapore Airlines (SIA), All Nippon Airways, Thai Airways, Asiana Airlines, Japan Airlines and Air New Zealand.

Our partnership with SIA began in 1996 when the airline placed what was at the time the largest order in the company's history for the supply of Trent 800 engines to power its fleet of Boeing 777. Today, SIA is one of the largest customers for the A350XWB family and nearly 80 per cent of its widebody fleet in operation is powered by Rolls-Royce engines.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) is an important Rolls-Royce customer.

Its C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and fleet of Gulfstream 550-Airborne Early Warning (G550-AEW) are powered by our engines.

The company also supports ST Engineering Aerospace, which runs an Authorised Maintenance Centre (AMC) for the Rolls-Royce T56 engine.

Established in 1974, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia provides mtu-brand power solutions and service support for ships, rail vehicles, mining, oil and gas, diesel and gas power generation industries.

We support our customers in these sectors, providing sustainable solutions for power generation through environmentally friendly technology, thereby contributing to the energy transition.

Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia serves customers in over 30 countries across Asia, with Singapore serving as the regional competence centre. The facility has three test cells available within the service workshop for testing of engines up to 11,000KW.

Extending the Rolls-Royce ecosystem in Singapore

Through a joint venture with Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) was formed. It is an Approved Maintenance Centre and a centre of excellence for Trent engine repair and overhaul.

Together with SAESL and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), we launched the Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab in September 2017 which has been instrumental in developing our advanced manufacturing and MRO capabilities.

Illustrating our partnership-led approach, Rolls-Royce is also a founding member of the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre, which aims to accelerate new, problem-solving methods within manufacturing.
