Rolls-Royce appoints John Neill as a Non-Executive director

Rolls-Royce today announced the appointment of John Neill CBE as a non-executive director.
Announcing the appointment, the Chairman of Rolls-Royce, Simon Robertson said: "I am delighted to welcome John Neill as a non-executive director of Rolls-Royce. He brings with him a wealth of experience in component manufacturing, supply-chain management and logistics which will all be extremely valuable to our Company."
John Neill is the Chief Executive of the Unipart Group of Companies. He is a member of the Council and Board of Business in the Community and is a Non-Executive Director of Charter PLC.
- John Neill CBE was educated at George Heriot's School, Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde. He gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University, Middlesex University and De Montfort University.
- He joined Unipart from General Motors in 1979 and in 1987 led the successful management buyout of the Company.
- He is Vice President of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, of BEN, the automotive industry charity and of The Institute of the Motor Industry. He is also a Trustee of the National Motor Museum.
- There are no other details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to John Neill.
