Rolls-Royce announced today (19 September) that Qantas Airways has ordered Trent 900 engines to power eight additional Airbus A380s, in a deal valued at more than $575 million. This brings Qantas’s Rolls-Royce powered A380 fleet to 20 aircraft.

Rolls-Royce has received its first order for Trent XWB engines from a France-based carrier, with the Air Caraïbes order for three Airbus A350-1000 XWB aircraft. The engines will be backed by a long-term TotalCare® agreement, bringing the combined engine and services package value to more than $250 million at list prices.

The Turkish Army announced that it has selected the AgustaWestland T129 helicopter, powered by two Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) CTS800-4A engines, as part of the Tactical Reconnaissance and Attack Helicopter (ATAK) Program for the Turkish Land Forces Command.
