Rolls-Royce SMR is today launching its Supplier Programme giving UK businesses the opportunity to bid for up to £1.4 billion of contracts over the next year. This will support Rolls-Royce SMR and Great British Energy-Nuclear (GBE-N) as they target more than 70% UK content for the Gwyndod project, on the coast of Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in North Wales, and unlock significant export potential.

Rolls-Royce SMR signed a deal with Great British Energy – Nuclear in April 2026 that paved the way for the delivery of SMRs in the UK. That contract has now unlocked a tremendous opportunity for the UK supply chain. Rolls-Royce SMR has been successful in every competitively tendered SMR selection process in Europe, with further contracts in the Czech Republic and its selection to deliver plants in Sweden. It is now very well placed to become a market leader globally, opening up export opportunities for a wide range of suppliers and industrial partners of all sizes.

Since being formed in 2021, Rolls-Royce SMR has already spent over £300M with UK based suppliers – equivalent to 88% of its total spend to date - held three UK supplier events and formally engaged with more than 650 UK businesses.

The launch of the Rolls-Royce SMR supplier programme is a major milestone in establishing a resilient, high-value UK supply chain, capable of delivering at scale and supporting a significant export programme. By combining targeted support, long-term visibility of opportunities and by establishing strategic partnerships, the Programme will help businesses grow, innovate and compete - ensuring they are ready to play a central role in delivering clean, secure energy in the UK and around the world.
