Celebrating International Women’s Day

Today is an important day to celebrate our pioneering women across the globe. Here we introduce you to some of the brilliant women working in Rolls-Royce Hungary – hear about their work and their passions.

Réka Kovács, Requirement Engineer, Rolls-Royce Hungary

‘With the development team we are working on the safe and efficient distribution of electrical power and electric supply in all-electric vertical take-off and landing air taxis, as well as commuter aircraft. I enjoy working in this very interesting field of engineering where we see many challenges and are working to find innovative solutions. I believe our efforts will contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly means of transportation. I like spending my free time with outdoor activities like trekking, mountain biking and running my organic garden. Being a mother of three children it is also important to me to keep the environment clean and healthy for the next generation.’

Eszter Horváth, Procurement Engineer, Rolls-Royce Hungary

‘Together with the developers we are working to ensure that the inverter and the associated control unit components and the production for the eVTOL, all-electric vertical take-off and landing air taxi propulsion system meet the highest standards, which is essential in the aerospace industry. This way we contribute to a sustainable air transport system that is cleaner, quieter, and environmentally friendly. In my job I connect with many people, both from the engineering and supplier side, which I really enjoy! At Rolls-Royce I have the possibility to do this in part-time working in a home office and with young children giving me the opportunity to balance family and work.’

Éva Szőke, Occupational Health and Environmental Manager, Rolls-Royce Hungary

‘At Rolls-Royce our top priority is to make sure all of our colleagues work in a safe environment where they can be at their best. My daily job is implementing Health and Safety Management System into our daily life. In my spare time I am training with my SAR German wirehaired pointer, Luna, in a Search and Rescue Organization as a volunteer.’

Mercsák, People Partner, Rolls-Royce Hungary

‘What I enjoy the most in working for Rolls-Royce Hungary is that my everyday work offers a variety of activities: interviewing young talent, designing programs and improving processes to increase employee engagement, and supporting people development activities. I also enjoy the team breakfast in the office, the summer parties where I would not miss being part of a cooking competition and hope to take the winning trophy this year and the interesting chats with colleagues in the canteen. I’m never bored for a minute as every working day is different. I feel very proud to contribute to the vision of Rolls-Royce Electrical: being pioneers in creating a sustainable, zero emission aviation to the benefit of mankind’.

Ágnes Gellén, Requirements Engineer, Rolls-Royce Hungary

‘Me and my team are responsible for managing and maintaining the requirements for the systems under design at the highest quality level, to get to a thoroughly defined system description for the design, manufacturing and test teams to work with. We also improve our requirement tool to support all users in the requirement management process. We know that all of us are responsible for our product, to provide power and propulsion for the future’s electrical aircraft at the highest level of safety, and to reach net zero emissions in aerospace. This new industry, electric aviation, is full of challenges which we must solve day by day. Finding out the solutions and defining them are the most motivating tasks ever. We are all working for that mission. In my spare time I create house and wedding decorations and ride horses.’
