Gennie steps up to support

“We have organised things like virtual coffee breaks just to catch up with each other, just to understand how people are managing during this lockdown period.”

Meet Gennie. Like some of our colleagues from the Singapore, Gennie continues to support our offices globally during these difficult times.

She has been observing several precautionary measures that both our business as well as the Singaporean government have put in place to protect the people, like working in the office on alternative weeks, prior to the lockdown. While there is some comfort in working from home Gennie misses the proximity to colleagues. She’s mindful of the mental toll lockdown can take on them and takes part in virtual coffee catch ups to support one another. She has also signed up to the Singaporean Health Care Corps to assist with testing and evaluation work as she is conscious of the role she can play. Gennie’s sense of duty probably stems from her family with her father having returned to China for work despite the adverse circumstances and her mother supporting her grandparents, who are vulnerable and in need of care. Meeting her grandparents and friends are at the top of Gennie’s list once lockdown is lifted but for now, she settles for organising KTV sessions (karaoke) and enjoying some time with her friends.

This is a story of how we support each other during these difficult times and can play a part in contributing to wider society.
