STEM Care Package – China

China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation

This Care Package distribution took place at Bobai county, two hours away from Yulin City, where Rolls-Royce Power Systems has a joint venture for the manufacturing of the MTU S4000 diesel engines.

Staff from the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation handed out around 500 backpacks containing stationery, learning materials and inspiration about STEM to the children at Jinkou Elementary School.

Faculty and students attended the event and expressed their appreciation. Smiles on the children’s lovely faces said it all.

Warmly received

“The backpacks show us the warm thoughts from the kind-hearted people at Rolls-Royce, carrying their expectations for our children to grow healthy and strong, and learn knowledge just like every other child,” said a leader at the school.

“We promise to study hard and grow up to become someone valuable to society, living up to your expectations,” said a student in her speech during the event. “We will not let you down.”

CFFPA

Rolls-Royce started working with the CFFPA since 2016

We fund the production and distribution of backpacks to thousands of disadvantaged children in rural areas.

Employee volunteers had the opportunities to visit some of the beneficiary schools and interacted with teachers and students there, to show them our care and inspire their passion for STEM subjects.
