Overview

Rolls-Royce in France works across all our business sectors with leading original equipment manufacturers and global operators and over 100 employees.

Through a long-standing partnership with Airbus, we are a key player in the French civil aerospace landscape. Over half of all widebody aircraft delivered by Airbus are powered by Rolls-Royce engines: the Trent 700 powers the A330s; the Trent 7000 is the exclusive engine of the future A330neo; the Trent 900 powers the A380 aircraft; and the Trent XWB is the sole engine on the A350XWB.

We work closely with the Safran Group, particularly on defence aerospace programmes and civil aerospace research programmes. We also have a joint venture with Safran Transmission Systems to supply components for aircraft engines. In addition to this, we also work with Safran on the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking, an EU-funded Public Private Partnership which aims to reduce the environmental impact of aviation.

We have several suppliers in France including Safran (Safran Nacelles, Safran Transmission Systems). Rolls-Royce and Safran are also developing Aero Gearbox International, a jointly-owned company that will design, develop, produce and support accessory drive train transmissions for all of Rolls-Royce's future civil aircraft engines- Ultrafan demo.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems subsidiary MTU France supports customers in the country. Our propulsion and electric power generation systems equip flagship vessels of the French Navy, as well as a large range of exported ships.
