Unveiling Rolls-Royce Singapore: a virtual walkthrough

Rolls-Royce's relationship with Singapore first began in the early 1930s when Rolls-Royce supplied Kestrel engines for Short Singapore III flying boats deployed by the British Royal Air Force for long-range open sea reconnaissance and patrols. Today, Singapore serves as the regional centre for our Civil Aerospace, Defence and Power Systems businesses, providing services and solutions to customers in Asia Pacific.

While we occasionally host tours for partner organisations and schools, there are parts of our facilities that house many pioneering technologies and are restricted to access.

Now, we can offer a peek into Rolls-Royce Singapore operations through a virtual tour.

Our Rolls-Royce Singapore campus is located within the Seletar Aerospace Park, The 154,000 sqm campus is home to the Advanced Fan Blade Singapore (FBSG), the global manufacturing facility for our hollow titanium Wide Chord Fan Blades. FBSG produces fan blades for the current series of Trent widebody engines, and adopts smart manufacturing technologies such as robotics, automation, and data analytics to enhance safety and productivity.

With Singapore established as one of the world’s leading and Asia’s largest maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) hubs, we have also invested significantly in our MRO capabilities. Our joint venture MRO operations, Singapore Aero Engine Services Pte Ltd (SAESL), is one of the world’s largest MRO facility by engine volume and with the most extensive portfolio of Rolls-Royce Trent engine capability.

To capture rising engine MRO demand, SAESL is set to expand from its facilities near Changi International Airport, into new ones, including to our Rolls-Royce Seletar campus. Rolls-Royce will continue to provide expertise to support SAESL’s growth and development of new MRO technologies and Industry 4.0 capabilities.

From the east and central, our Singapore footprint also extends to the west with Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia at Tukang Innovation Drive.

Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia is the company’s power systems business, providing mtu-brand power solutions and service support for ships, rail vehicles, mining, oil and gas, diesel and gas power generation industries.
