Championing women in technology with Regina See

Rolls-Royce is proud to be a platinum sponsor of Girls in Tech – Singapore, a global non-profit organisation focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology. Meet Regina See, a Manufacturing Engineer at Rolls-Royce and a participant of this year’s programme.

Tell us about what you do at Rolls-Royce.

I’m a Manufacturing Engineer at Rolls-Royce. My work revolves around the fan blades that are produced in our facility in Singapore. This includes quality control to ensure smooth delivery of parts to meet our customers’ requirements, and method improvement to reduce the cost of producing the fan blades over time.

Why do you want to be part of Girls in Tech  Singapore?

I am the first female engineer in my department and it’s a privilege for me, as I strongly believe in empowering women in STEM education and careers. By joining the Girls in Tech – Singapore programme, I hope to meet like-minded individuals at different stages of their careers and learn from their experiences in technology and engineering. It’s also an opportunity for me to share my experience and potentially interest more female engineers to join the industry.

In what ways do you think this programme will benefit your career at Rolls-Royce?

With the guidance of my mentor in this programme, I’m looking to challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone. I believe that will allow me to learn and grow, which is essential for my career development. These sessions give me the opportunity to meet other females in the STEM industry.

What would you say to women aspiring to build a successful career in STEM?

Be proud to be a woman in STEM. We are equally capable of accomplishing great things!
