Dahlewitz
Dahlewitz is the headquarters of Rolls-Royce Deutschland and of our Civil Small and Medium engine business. It employs around 1,800 people and is a centre of excellence for two-shaft engines that power regional airliners and business jets, as well as for HP compressors and nacelles.
In 2005 we relocated the V2500 – one of our large civil aero engines, previously assembled and tested in Derby – to Dahlewitz, as part of a strategy to build up competence centres around the world. Dahlewitz is also home to the BR700 engine family (BR710, BR715, BR725) and is responsible for the Tay, Spey and Dart engine series.
In 2010 we opened the Rolls-Royce Mechanical Test Operations Centre in Dahlewitz, a global facility for testing gas turbine components. It has 7,000 square metres of space and can carry out approximately 40 different tests, ranging from centrifugal and operational stability tests, to vibration and materials testing.
