Bhavya Yaralagadda, Design Engineer, Defence Services
Engineering to me is building and creating things that make the world a better place for tomorrow. At Rolls-Royce I have the opportunity to learn new things every day and I am constantly motivated and pushed to be better and do better.
As a child, I used to spend all my holidays with my grandparents. My grandfather used to tell me that he loved to study and that most of his childhood was spent in libraries. Unfortunately, he was unable to go to college because of family issues. Most of the conversations I remember having with him were about different airplanes; how they fly, and the technologies used. He left me with so many questions that he couldn’t answer. This developed an interest in airplanes.
Initially, I wanted to study computer science as that is recommended for women who want to join engineering, but I followed my heart and decided to study airplanes. I came across Aeronautical Engineering, and that is how my journey began.
