As a child, I was guided to become a doctor, while I was interested in engineering. So, after doing my senior schooling in Biology, I enrolled for a Diploma in Information Technology and got a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Automation. Breaking this first stereotype that women are not suited for STEM was the most challenging.
After marriage when I made the decision to pursue a Master’s degree in Design Engineering, I had to work hard to maintain my work-life balance and to make it work. At every stage, I had to start afresh, as every time there were new challenges. However, as I successfully crossed each stage, I became more confident that I can achieve anything.
