August 2016 update – site changes and road closure
You may recall that we held a consultation event last year about our plans to modernise our Derby campus and realign Victory Road, to make it fit for the 21st Century. This represents a significant investment and signifies our ongoing commitment to operating in Derby.
We were pleased to receive planning consent in September 2015 and are now moving forward with our plans.
We will be making some minor changes to our consented designs, to improve how we can operate around the site, including better footways and cycle lanes. We will also be reducing the height of part of the noise barrier at the eastern end of the site, although this will not adversely impact our neighbours. We are also progressing the statutory process for closing the part of Victory Road that will not be required once the new road is built and open. To help illustrate these we have annotated the changes on the plan opposite.
Subject to those being approved, later this year we will start to build the new, realigned section of Victory Road, illustrated on the diagram below in green. When it is ready next year, we will close the stretch of road in red, which will then become part of our site.
On 6 September 2016 we held a public information event to explain more about the road closure and changes around our site.
