0800   Arrival: Participants to arrive for practice laps.

 
0900   Preparation and practice: Each competitor gets to try out the course and it’s be last time for adjusting the kart or tweaking those tactics.

 
1000   Welcome: Official welcome and team photo call.

 
1010   All-team photo call: Shortly before the qualification lap, the expectant teams have their photos taken before the sweat of the race sets in!

 
1020   Qualification: The fastest member is picked to represent the team for the qualification lap. This timed lap places the teams on the starting grid.

 
1030   Race start: Race Start (an endurance-style race lasting for 90 minutes).

 
1200   Finish

 
1215   Prize giving: Presentation of Awards followed by Lunch for Participants

 

Presentation of Awards

  • Best Design Portfolio
    To be judged by Jim Wickerson, Rolls-Royce Design Training Specialist

  • Best Kart Design
    To be judged by Duncan Forbes, Director of Engineering and Technology, Rolls-Royce Operations.

  • Rolls-Royce Charity Cup
    Awarded to the team who have raised the most money for charity through sponsorship.

  • Race Winner
    The number of laps completed by each team's kart will be counted and then announced at the presentation of awards.

We are honoured to have the Deputy Mayor of the City of Derby, Councillor Barbara Jackson to present the awards.

Race Course

The race course for 2007 will be in front of the Rolls-Royce Learning and Career Development Centre, Wilmore Road, Derby. The exact course layout may change a little on the day.
