The VROOM Power Challenge aims to develop the potential of budding engineers and also raise money for local charities. The Rolls-Royce Charity Cup therefore goes to the team that raises the most money for their charity.

Each school chooses its own charity which they will support by collecting sponsorship money. The money is collected in before the race, when the totals are announced and prize awarded.

The charities supported by each school:

  • Da Vinci Community school - Jude Wish (a student who passed away)
  • Lees Brook Community School - RSPCA
  • Littleover Community School - NSPCC and Childline
  • St. John Houghton School - Cancer Research
  • Sinfin Community School - Oxfam
