Operations

Rolls-Royce is committed to building and maintaining a high reliability organisation, one that delivers consistently high performance across all aspects of health, safety and environmental (HS&E) management. Our objective is to achieve world-class levels of performance throughout our business and to be widely recognised for the excellence of our performance. In the past year we have launched a revised HS&E strategy and governance arrangements, introduced global programmes of improvement and strengthened our HS&E function.

During 2011, we have continued our programme of investment, funding world-class facilities in all major geographies, providing capacity for future growth, contributing to improved productivity and delivering products with operational lives which may well extend to half a century. We have invested £467m in capital projects in 2011.  New aerospace facilities include Crosspointe in the US to manufacture discs and at Seletar in Singapore where we will assemble and test large civil engines and manufacture wide-chord fan blades. We have also opened a new Mechanical Test complex at Dahlewitz in Germany to conduct testing for our businesses worldwide.

Further information on our Operational activities can be found in the Annual Report.
