Every one of our manufacturing facilities, in over 100 locations around the world, is part of a recycling programme we call 'Revert' where we recover, recycle and reuse waste metals in manufacturing, so that these can be melted again and turned into new aerospace alloys.
In support of the Revert programme, we have partnered with strategic service providers who specialise in waste metal handling and processing. Our strategic partner for engine materials is SOS Metals - UK Ltd. They are industry leaders in providing cost effective and efficient metals reclamation processes and have established their international headquarters in Derbyshire, UK, close to our manufacturing plants. They opened a state-of-the-art 30,000 square foot facility near Derby and have since expanded to nearly 100,000 square feet within two years, creating new jobs and further growth opportunities.
Our focus is on recycling high grade aerospace alloys, such as titanium, nickel-based superalloys and other special metals, which are recycled as part of "closed-loop" arrangements with our key melters. Over 100 separate locations are serviced and the focus in 2013 is to bring additional members of our supply chain and our customers into the Revert programme, which delivers value and sustainability and supports the environment.
