We have a strong and proud history of innovation but recognise we must continue to innovate in order to remain successful. It is our ongoing culture of fostering innovation that will ensure Rolls-Royce continues to remain Trusted to deliver excellence.
We have around 16,600 professional engineers worldwide who can apply their intellect and experience to improving the performance of our products. In 2013 we recruited more than 650 new engineering graduate trainees and apprentices.
Our 150 strong Rolls-Royce Engineering Fellowship applies world-class leadership of technical expertise to our most complex challenges. The annual Sir Henry Royce Awards celebrate excellence in innovation, along with other innovation awards across the Group.
We also have a global network of 31 University Technology Centres. These engage over 700 academics in fundamental research into cutting edge technologies for step change improvements in the performance of our future products and services.
To drive innovation we have an innovation strategy that ensures we create the right environment – curious, challenging, disciplined, open-minded and able to change with pace.
But most importantly, we ensure our innovation is relevant to our customers’ needs.
