Supply Chain Simplification –
The Globalisation of Purchasing
The next step is to truly globalise our purchasing organisation
by introducing regionally based Supply Chain Management
Teams in Rolls-Royce Deutschland, Rolls-Royce North America
and Asia Pacific. These SCMT’s will have the same
organisation structures and roles as those already embedded
in the UK.
Each regional SCMT will operationally interface with
their suppliers from the closest geographical point on
behalf of all Rolls-Royce gas turbine customers.
From a supplier perspective:
- North America based suppliers delivering to Rolls-Royce
plants anywhere in the world will be supported by a
single SCMT interface team located in North America
- Asia based suppliers delivering to Rolls-Royce plants
anywhere in the world will be supported by a single
SCMT interface team located in Asia
- Europe based suppliers delivering to Rolls-Royce plants
anywhere in the world will be supported by a single
SCMT interface team located in either Germany or the
UK

What are Supply Chain Management Teams?
SCMTs are responsible for managing the day-to-day operational
performance of the external supply chain on behalf of the
SCU.
Each SCU and SCMT has a common organisation
structure, roles and processes supporting our ongoing
drive for standardisation and the elimination of variability
in the processes we operate. This organisation is currently
operational in the UK.
