Rolls-Royce recognised that to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers for improved cost, quality and delivery we need to organise in a way which maximises the capability of our global supply chain and ensures that we could respond effectively to changing demands. The company is therefore simplifying our supply chain by organising into Global Commodity Groups that will align well with our suppliers.

This establishes:

• Clear ownership of the total supply chain for each commodity from initial design and throughout the complete product lifecycle
• A global supply chain with clear line of sight from customer to supplier
• A significant reduction in the number of points of contact with each supplier and greater clarity on individual accountability.
