| Rolls-Royce has strengthened its focus
on its global supply chain by realigning resources internally
to ensure a more effective response to the rising pace of
change and customer demand within the markets in which the
company operates.
This detailed reorganisation was termed Supply Chain Simplification
and resulted in the creation of ten Supply Chain Units for
the major groups of commodities designed, manufactured and
supplied through the global supply chain.
The new Supply Chain Units cover the following commodity
groups – Combustion and Casings; Component Services;
Compressors; Controls; Fans; General Machining; Installations;
Rotatives; Transmissions, Structures and Drives; and Turbines.
These Supply Chain Units are responsible for developing
and executing a supply chain strategy for each global commodity
group. They are supported by a number of key functions,
which are accountable for defining the processes and capabilities
to ensure each unit is able to operate effectively in a
consistent and standardised way.
