Over the last three years Rolls-Royce Deutschland
has seen a significant growth in demand. Here Angus
Grant, Head of Purchasing Programmes and Operations for
Rolls-Royce Deutschland reflects on the changes
that have taken place since 2003 and outlines the challenges
for the supply chain.
"When walking around the Rolls-Royce Deutschland sites
you really get a sense that the place has grown. There are
numerous new buildings, a sea of new faces, new engines
types being built in the assembly hall and an International
Aero Engines welcome shield that greets you as you enter
through the Dahlewitz main entrance.
If we go back to just 2003, the site was mainly focused
on production and in service support of two engine programmes,
the BR710 and BR715. Annual production was then 127 engines,
with 1850 employees and an annual turnover of over 500 million
Euros.
