| Can you tell us about your new
role?
My role looks at the North American supply chain. Currently
our suppliers have numerous Rolls-Royce contacts across
all four businesses; this increases both costs and inefficiencies,
and suppliers don’t know who to listen to. I will
be setting supply chain strategies and policies for regionally-based
suppliers and company operations, and will lead the delivery
of these strategies on behalf of the Customer Facing Business
Units (CFBU’s) to optimise supply chain value.
What are the challenges you see?
The main challenge I see is that Rolls-Royce needs to stabilise
the supply base, grow capabilities and drive efficiency
and effectiveness throughout the organisation.
Other areas I am keen to focus on are; working with suppliers
who are struggling to meet our current workload to make
sure we meet our demands.
