Rolls-Royce is committed to investing in the development of Singapore’s technology capability and infrastructure, and works closely with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and other institutions and agencies to explore new partnership opportunities of common strategic interest. The company invests approximately S$65 million annually on training and some S$650 million a year on capital projects.
The Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) is part of the Rolls-Royce global network for technology research. Building on the Rolls-Royce best practice for working collaboratively with universities and government institutes, the initial stages of ATC was established in 2004, following an agreement with Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and its research institutes. Since then, ATC activities have expanded significantly in size and scope.
Collaborative Research & Development programmes with A*STAR and its research institutes demonstrate the confidence Rolls-Royce has in Singapore as an ideal base for mutually beneficial technology acquisition.
Current activities at the ATC cover a broad portfolio of technologies, including Computational Engineering, Electrical Systems, Manufacturing Process Technology, Materials and Fuel Cell Technology.
