1950s
Established a modest representative office in Singapore.

1960s
Provided support for Rolls-Royce powered aircraft fleet of the Royal Air Force (RAF) stationed in Singapore.

1993
Kamewa waterjets selected for Singapore Navy patrol vessels.

1995
Singapore Airlines (SIA) placed the largest order in Rolls-Royce history for the supply of Trent 800 engines for its fleet of Airbus A340-500s and further Boeing 777 aircraft.

1998
International Engine Component Overhaul (IECO) began operations, offering advanced aero engine component repair services for Trent and RB211 engines.

1999
Through the acquisition of Vickers, Rolls-Royce established a Marine office in Singapore including a ship design office for offshore supply vessels, merchant, tugs, over 35 UT design vessels and specialist naval sectors in Asia.

2001
Singapore Aero Engine Service Ltd. (SAESL), a tripartite venture between Rolls-Royce (UK), SIAEC (Singapore) and HAESL (Hong Kong) began operations.

Rolls-Royce signed an MOU with Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research).

2004
Rolls-Royce signed a comprehensive Master Research Agreement with A*STAR, leading to the establishment of the Advanced Technology Centre in Singapore, an integral part of the Group’s global network for technology research.

2006
Rolls-Royce was conferred the Distinguished Partner in Progress (DPIP) Award by the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Singapore, which represents the nation’s highest corporate honour in recognition of its 'exemplary contributions to Singapore' and commitment to social and economic growth.

Rolls-Royce launched a scholarship scheme, committing S$100,000 for studies under Nanyang Technological University’s aerospace engineering degree programme.

2007
The Trent 900 entered service powering SIA’s fleet of Airbus A380s.

Rolls-Royce announced plans to build an Assembly and Test Facility in Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park.

2008
IECO celebrated its 10th anniversary of operations and opened a facility extension to increase overall output by 30 per cent.

SAESL celebrated completion of 500 Trent aero engine overhauls, 18 months ahead of schedule

Rolls-Royce was awarded the British Business Award in Science & Technology, by the British Chamber of Commerce, for its work in developing solid oxide fuel cell technology.

2009
Rolls-Royce announced plans to build a new Wide Chord Fan Blade (WCFB) factory in Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park to be located alongside the previously announced Assembly and Test Unit.

Rolls-Royce relocated its global Marine Headquarters to Singapore in recognition of the growth in the Asian market and its importance to the business.

IECO crossed the one million mark for components repaired.

Rolls-Royce won the UK TI Innovation award at the British Business Awards, for its contribution to driving innovative technology, products and services in Singapore. Rolls-Royce also won a British Business Award in Education and Training while IECO won the Manufacturing and Technology award.

2010
SAESL launched a S$60-million, 12,000 square metre facility extension increasing its capacity to 250 engine overhauls per year.

Rolls-Royce published research showing that by 2015 its activities in Singapore will contribute more than S$1.66 billion – approximately 0.5 per cent of GDP – to Singapore’s economy  and sustain nearly 25,000 jobs in the larger economy.

Rolls-Royce signed an agreement with Institute of Technical Education (ITE) for the provision of core skills in aerospace manufacturing, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop specialist Precision Engineering Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) in collaboration with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

2011
The Regional Training Centre was officially opened and commenced operations at the Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus.

2012
On 13 February, Prime Minster of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong officially opened the Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus at Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore.

Rolls-Royce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with A*STAR and NTU to establish the Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre in Singapore.

Rolls-Royce is ranked as the fifth most ideal employer in Singapore for engineering students by Universum in its top 100 list.

On 12 September, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unveiled the first Rolls-Royce Trent aero engine to be assembled and tested in Singapore, a Trent 900 for the Airbus A380 at the Seletar Campus.

Rolls-Royce wins awards for Innovation in Business and Productivity Improvement at the Annual British Business Awards, by the British Chamber of Commerce, in recognition for the outstanding work done by the teams at the Seletar Campus.

On 28 November, Rolls-Royce delivered the first Trent aero engines produced in Singapore to Airbus.
