The opening of the Rolls-Royce
Operations Centre in Bristol
Rolls-Royce has unveiled its latest
investment in a new Operations Centre in Bristol.
The centre is the latest initiative in the expansion
of Mission Ready Management Solutions (MRMS®), the
engine support package that now generates 55 per cent
of Rolls-Royce defence sales.
The Operations Centre will provide a world-class operational
support facility providing advice, guidance and information
to Rolls-Royce MRMS programme management teams, field
representatives and other company personnel deployed
into the customers’ operations.
The centre will initially support five programmes –
the Spey engine powering the Nimrod MRA2 aircraft; the
RB199 in the RAF Tornado; and the Adour contracts covering
Hawk trainer aircraft in service in the USA, Canada
and Australia. The remaining MRMS programmes will be
added throughout 2005 and early 2006.
This centre follows the creation of a similar facility
opened last year in Derby to support Rolls-Royce civil
airline customers.
