The Rolls-Royce repair and overhaul capability has
expanded to 16 sites on 4 continents, and now has capability
to overhaul over 40 engine types, from a range of Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Growth has been achieved
through a combination of organic development, strategic
acquisition and partnership with our customers.
The organisation has its headquarters in Derby, England
- the original centre for large civil engine overhaul.
This site is now complimented by joint ventures in Hong
Kong, Dallas and Singapore which provide overhaul on
large civil engines such as the Trent and RB211 in partnership
with HAECO, sister company of Cathay Pacific, American
Airlines and SIA Engineering Company. In February 2003
a further enhancement was made to the Rolls-Royce network
when N3 Engine Overhaul Services was announced, which
will provide further Trent overhaul capability in a
50:50 joint venture with Lufthansa Technik.
We place considerable importance on component repair,
and in response to this have partnered global technology
leaders in developing a network of centres of excellence.
In addition to the capabilities at the Rolls-Royce facilities,
our joint ventures IECO in Singapore and TRT in Derbyshire
offer a range of repair capability to compliment our
overhaul services.
This unique aftermarket strategy of combining wholly-owned
facilities with joint ventures established in partnership
with key customers has contributed to our strides to
serve the aftermarket.
