| In 2004 Rolls-Royce launched Profitable Pursuit,
a business simulation teaching tool to help young people gain a better
understanding of the world of business. The initiative supported the
UK Government focus on enterprise and work-related learning.
Following a successful launch, which raised levels of teacher awareness
and interest, the take-up of Profitable Pursuit teacher training
places has reduced over the period. We have been impressed by the
enthusiasm that a small number of teachers have shown for the simulation.
However, overall, we have found that take-up and subsequent usage
of Profitable Pursuit in schools has been modest and there have
been insufficient levels of interest to run the training sessions.
For these reasons Rolls-Royce will no longer be offering Profitable
Pursuit, but will focus our efforts on our other numerous education
outreach activities.
Rolls-Royce remains highly committed to supporting education activities
as a crucial element in widening the pool of talent from which we
recruit and as a key part of our corporate social responsibility
agenda. To find out more about Rolls-Royce’s education activities,
