The Trent 900, launch
engine for the Airbus A380, is the largest exhibit on the Group’s
stand and represents the successful Trent engine family, which has
a 42 per cent market-leading share on new generation wide-bodied
aircraft.
The newest member of the Trent engine family is the Trent XWB,
the only engine available for the new A350 XWB.
The Trent 1000 is the launch engine for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner,
which will enter service with ANA (All Nippon Airways) next year.
The Trent 700 continues to be the market leader on the A330, and
the Trent 500 is the sole engine available for the long-range A340.
The Trent 800 has won 41 per cent of the Boeing 777s on which it
is available.
Materials and fan blade technology developed for this family of
civil engines are also a key feature in another exhibit, the Adour
Mk951, which powers the new BAE Systems Hawk trainer aircraft.
The engine display is completed by three smaller powerplants that
are making a big impression in the helicopter market. The RTM322
is the leading engine in the medium lift helicopter market, selected
by over 90 per cent of NH90 customers and setting new standards
in performance and reliability in arduous hot and high conditions
on the EH101 and Apache helicopters.
The T800 engine is the power behind the
Super Lynx and the new Future Lynx, selected by the UK Ministry
of Defence, while the RR300 is the latest
engine in the company’s helicopter portfolio.
It represents a major step forward in the helicopter industry,
using new technology to deliver 300 shaft horsepower at takeoff,
excellent hot and high performance and outstanding value.
The Paris Air Show will also be a showcase for many of the collaborative
engine programmes in which Rolls-Royce participates. These include
the TP400 engine (Hall 2A Stand B17).
The EJ200 engine for the Eurofighter Typhoon
is exhibited as part of the Eurojet display in the Eurofighter Pavilion
(Static Display, P*1).
The F136 engine, the interchangeable powerplant
for the F-35 Lightning II (Joint Strike Fighter), will be on display
on the GE stand (Hall2A, Stand E17)
Rolls-Royce is also a principal shareholder in the International
Aero Engines V2500 (Hall 5 Stand B18).
