For over 100 years, Rolls-Royce has had a presence in the US. From the opening of its first U.S. office in 1906, the company has evolved into the industry leader it is today.
The company’s regional headquarters for Rolls-Royce North America Inc. is in Reston, Virginia, and it provides management direction and corporate support for all Rolls-Royce businesses and operations in the region, which encompasses more than 7,700 employees at 68 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
The company supports a wide range of customers in the region including civil and military aircraft manufacturers; commercial airlines; corporate and regional operators; public utilities; independent power producers; nuclear power plants; pipeline operators; and ,on-and-off short oil producers, to name a few.
The U.S. is home to several of the company's global businesses including Rolls-Royce Energy Systems Inc. in Ohio, Defense North America and LibertyWorks™, in Indiana; Rolls-Royce Naval Marine Inc. in Massachusetts; Rolls-Royce Engine Services - Oakland in California; and Optimized Systems & Solutions LLC, in Virginia.
Rolls-Royce capabilities in the region cover: research and development; design; engineering; advanced manufacturing of engines and components; assembly; test; repair and overhaul of gas turbine engines and components; marine propulsion and shoplift systems; oil and gas pipeline pumping and power generation packages, nuclear services, and other duties performed at 14 principal facilities across the U.S. and Canada. The company's largest manufacturing site for gas turbine engines outside the United Kingdom is in Indianapolis, Indiana.
