The Marine Propulsion division, based
in Coquitlam, a suburb of Vancouver,
manufactures steerable azimuthing
thrusters, which replace a conventional
propeller, rudder and reduction gearbox
with an integrated unit that performs
both steering and propulsion functions.
The thrusters have the ability to
rotate 360 degrees, providing vessels
with improved maneuverability. Units
are typically installed on tugs, supply
vessels, ferries and drudges. |
