
Mia Kelly Walton is Senior Vice President -
Corporate Communications for Rolls-Royce North
America Inc. In this role, Walton is responsible
for positioning and promoting Rolls-Royce, its
businesses, products and people, in the North
American market. Walton leads all aspects of
the company’s external and internal communications
in the region including brand, corporate reputation,
public affairs, marketing, advertising, media
relations, philanthropy, executive and employee
communications. She also provides strategic
communications and marketing counsel to a number
of globally-matrixed business units. She joined
Rolls-Royce in 2001.
Walton has more than 20 years of experience
in strategic communications and marketing. Prior
to joining Rolls-Royce, she was Assistant Director,
Corporate and Public Policy Communications for
General Motors Corporation based in Washington,
D.C. where she served as principal corporate
spokesperson on a range of safety, environmental,
international trade, financial and legal issues.
She also managed regional events for several
GM brands as well as local sponsorships and
philanthropic activities for the GM Foundation.
Earlier, she was Communications Manager for
the American Automobile Manufacturers Association,
where she developed and directed an integrated
industry marketing and public affairs program
for “America’s Car Companies”.
Before joining the auto industry, Walton served
in the White House under President George H.
W. Bush, first as Special Assistant to the Chief
of Staff and later as Associate Director for
Media Affairs. She also served in the Reagan
Administration as a Public Affairs Specialist
in the Office of Management and Budget. Walton
began her career in television broadcasting.
Walton holds a BA from Yale University. She
is also a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover,
MA and in 1983, while still a student, published
Andover: The Face of Phillips Academy.
