
Steve Dwyer was appointed Chief Operating Officer
of Rolls-Royce Corporation on March 1, 2004. In
this role, he provides management oversight to
more than 4,000 employees and all operations at
the 3.6 million sq. ft. Rolls-Royce facility in
Indianapolis, IN. This facility is the company’s
largest manufacturing site in the U.S.
Previously Dwyer was President – Defense
North America (DNA) in Rolls-Royce, responsible
for DNA program management and developing and
executing the business’ aftermarket strategy.
Before joining Rolls-Royce in 1998, Dwyer served
as General Manager of AlliedSignal in Greer,
South Carolina, where he successfully directed
the $200M company to nearly double its volume
while achieving double-digit growth in productivity.
He also served as AlliedSignal’s Director
of Finance and Business Systems, where his financial
team was named “Best in Corporation”.
From 1986-1994, he was Director of Contracts
Pricing and Internal Audit for Textron Lycoming,
where he was instrumental in securing a $1.4
billion long-term contract with the Army to
provide a propulsion system for the nation’s
main battle tank.
Dwyer is a 23-year veteran of the aerospace
and defense industry and has extensive knowledge
of Lean Manufacturing concepts, Continuous Improvement
programs and comprehensive Internal Control
systems.
