Rolls-Royce is a member of seven
Collier Trophy winning teams, five
awards are for products developed
in Indiana - the Advanced Turboprop
Project (1987), the V-22 Osprey
(1990), the Cessna Citation X (1996),
the AE 3007H-powered Global Hawk
unmanned aerial vehicle (2000),
the Integrated Liftfan Propulsion
System for the Joint Strike Fighter
(2001), in which Rolls-Royce provided
the advanced technology STOVL components
for the system, most notably the
LiftFan.
The site's engineering, design and
research centers support all aspects
of turbine engine and component
design, development, testing and
production. The model shop and laboratories
are equipped to support research,
and the testing facilities allow
comprehensive evaluation of engines
and their component parts.
The Indianapolis site also includes
a 68,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art
training center dedicated to hourly
and salary employee training and
career development.
