Key events and announcements for Rolls-Royce in 2013.

1st Quarter 2013

PetroChina awards a contract to Rolls-Royce for equipment and related services to power the flow of natural gas through Line 3 of the West-East Pipeline Project.

Our MT30 gas turbine was successfully installed in the UK Royal Navy’s new aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth. MT30 has also been selected to power the new Type 26 frigate.

2nd Quarter 2013

The first of our Environship concepts took to the high seas when the gas-powered cargo ship Eidsvaag Pioner was launched. It features advanced technologies which significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

The Airbus A350 takes off for its first flight with our Trent XWB engines.

The world’s first liquified natural gas-powered LNG cruise ferry, Stavangerfjord, enters service.

3rd Quarter 2013

The first A400M transport aircraft enters service with the French Air Force.

A contract is announced to supply Asia Gas Pipeline LLP with compression equipment and related services to power the flow of natural gas through Kazakhstan's Line C Gas Pipeline. This is part of the 1,833km long Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline network.

Trent 1000 engines power the first flight of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Rolls-Royce celebrates 50 years of business in China.

4th Quarter 2013

Rolls-Royce finalises the first ever deal with Japan Airlines – for Trent XWB engines to power 31 A350 XWB aircraft.

The latest production and support contract, worth $215m, for our LiftSystem® for the STOVL variant of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft is awarded.
