hot weather trials. The aircraft is
part in Etihad livery, the first Middle
East customer for the Trent 900.
For both the Dubai Air Show and Rolls-Royce,
1989 marked the beginning of a new era.
It was the year of the first Dubai Air Show,
whose 10th anniversary is being celebrated
at this years show (November 11-15) and
also the year Rolls-Royce received the first
order for its new Trent aero engine.
Since 1989, Dubai has been at the centre
of a remarkable growth of the Middle East
and its aviation industry. The Trent has
played a major role in the regions growth
and, at the same time, won the largest share
of the world market for engines for modern
wide-bodied aircraft.
