Rolls-Royce has more than 1,000 military
aero engines in service in the region.
The Royal Saudi Air Force operates a fleet
of more than 500 Rolls-Royce engines powering
Tornado, Hawk and C-130 aircraft. It is
also expected to operate the EJ200 powered
Typhoon. The Egyptian Air Force has 15
Commando helicopters powered by the Gnome
and C130s powered by the T56. The Adour
family of engines powers the Jaguar and
Hawk aircraft of four air forces in the
region.
The RTM322 helicopter engine, which has
proved itself very capable of operating
in hot conditions, has become the engine
of choice for the NH90 multi-role helicopter.
More than 90 per cent of NH90 customers,
including Oman, have selected this engine.
The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company
(LHTEC) T800 engine, a joint venture between
Rolls-Royce and Honeywell, is also operating
in Oman where it powers the fleet of Super
Lynx 300 helicopters.
