Rolls-Royce has more than 1,000 military aero engines in service in the region. The Royal Saudi Air Force operates a fleet of more than 500 Rolls-Royce engines powering Tornado, Hawk and C-130 aircraft. It is also expected to operate the EJ200 powered Typhoon. The Egyptian Air Force has 15 Commando helicopters powered by the Gnome and C130s powered by the T56. The Adour family of engines powers the Jaguar and Hawk aircraft of four air forces in the region.

The RTM322 helicopter engine, which has proved itself very capable of operating in hot conditions, has become the engine of choice for the NH90 multi-role helicopter. More than 90 per cent of NH90 customers, including Oman, have selected this engine. The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) T800 engine, a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and Honeywell, is also operating in Oman where it powers the fleet of Super Lynx 300 helicopters.
