Rolls Royce at the Dubai Air Show

Welcome. The German aerospace industry is an innovative high-tech sector, which has internationally recognised technological competencies and system capabilities.

A Global Leader

Rolls-Royce is a truly international business operating in 50 countries. It operates in four global markets - civil aerospace, defence aerospace, marine and energy. It is investing in technology and capability that can be exploited in each of these sectors to create a competitive range of products as demonstrated by the company’s rapid and substantial gains in market share over recent years. The company now has a total of 54,000 gas turbines in service worldwide. The investments in product, capability and infrastructure to gain this market position create high barriers to entry.

Changing shape

Over more than a century, Rolls-Royce has built up a reputation for reliability, integrity and innovation to become the world’s most recognised name in engineering. The company continues to invest in products, technology and services for the future.

The Trent family of aero-engines has won a majority share of the new generation widebody airliner market worldwide, including a 42 per cent market share in the Middle East.

The large installed base of engines generates demand for the provision of services.

The company seeks to add value for its customers that will enhance the performance and reliability of its products while strategic acquisitions have greatly expanded Rolls-Royce capabilities in all four of its sectors of operation.

Local partnership

At a local level, joint ventures are also helping to develop new business opportunities. In the Middle East Rolls-Royce has entered a Memorandum of Understanding with Mubadala Development Company-the commercial investment and Development Company owned by the Abu Dhabi government. This MOU contemplates the formation of a joint venture to explore mutually beneficial opportunities across the Middle East. A wide range of activities are being considered including partnering to build UT-design offshore support vessels in Abu Dhabi and establishing regional service delivery capability in the UAE across various sectors.
