Rolls-Royce has played a leading role in the development
of new concepts for high-speed cargo and passenger vessels
in operation all over the world.

High-speed RoRo vessel, NVC 920-C. This NVC-Design is
arranged for trailers and general RoRo cargo on two
decks. The vessel is designed for high speed and high
deadweight. The propulsion plant has two MT30 gas turbines
and two waterjets . The structural strength of the vessel
and the hull form are designed for operation in very
rough conditions at high speed
The NVC-Design™ for high-speed cargo vessels
ensures low fuel consumption and high deadweight, thanks
to high-tensile steel used in the hull in combination
with the aluminium alloy used in the superstructure.
The vessel’s speed ranges between 25 and 45 knots
when loaded, and features a water jet propulsion system
with diesel engines and/or gas turbines. The wave-piercing
bow is excellent with regard to sea-keeping and slamming.
The NVC-Design for high-speed passenger vessels is
based on a monohull design, with a wave-piercing bow.
This combination provides excellent sea-keeping and
low fuel consumption with high dead weight. Low noise
and vibration levels in the living quarters. The vessel’s
slender foreship in the hull ensures better passenger
comfort and reduced potential damage in rough seas.
