As part of the Rolls-Royce automation system the Intelligent
Fluid System (IFS) operates as an autonomous system
constantly monitoring fluid flow and pressures. If these
deviate from expected levels the IFS will automatically
control valves to contain leaks and where possible reconfigure
the system to maintain the fluid system service.

IFS acts as an independent autonomous system manager
at the valve-level, using networked microprocessors
mounted locally to the fluid system valves, using the
same Commercially Off The Shelf (COTS) equipment and
data network as the current Rolls-Royce automation systems.
